For years, the Netherlands Bach Society has been performing lamentations in the early morning of Good Friday and Holy Saturday, prior to the St Matthew Passion.

In 2020, some of the singers in our ensemble will perform a programme compiled by João Moreira. He has selected some wonderful Portuguese late-Renaissance music for Holy Week, including works by Estevão Lopes Morago, Duarte Lobo, Filipe de Magalhães and Francisco António de Almeida.
